I'm going to do some work on the carbs soon - thanks for your help on this Andrew 8)
The fuel hoses in the engine bay are the same age as the car (32 years old) so I'm going to play safe and replace these at the same time as they're probably past their best. Can anyone tell me off-hand what the diameter of these hoses is?

Also - the short piece of hosing on top of the carbs that 'joins' them together looks and feel brittle. This is a very rigid piece of plastic type hosing. Should I leave alone or can I replace with standard rubber hosing of the type I'll get for the rest of the system?

Thanks very much.

I use 5/16 fuel line on mine. either 7 or 8 mm would work. I would replace the tie section between the carbs. You probably want to verify the condition of the carb adapter between the carbs and manifold before you get it all apart and find out you need one.

You had mentioned the carbs were leaking so you will have to pull them in any event to get to the accelerator pumps but you can remove the carb tops with the carbs in place to check for rust accumulation in the carbs from the tank.
