Hi, I am replacing all of the coolant hoses and fixing the fan motor in my 82 Zagato. While I was removing the fan motor, I noticed 2 vacuum hoses that were disconnected under the dash. Is there a diagram on what hoses go where?
Thanks,
Rob

The A/C Helper card in the download section shows HVAC
hose routing. Bare in mind on some days "Guido" would
use a green hose where the yellow hose should be, or
black vs. ? etc. But the diagram will give you the routing.
You'd better have one hell of a flexible neck to get @ the
valves in the driver's footwell. Check the condition of the
vacumn hose exiting the heater valve @ the firewall too.
That's the one most likely to be bad, exhaust manifold heat.
The hoses inside: footwells, console are normally intact.

Glad that helped. If you are accessing the fan assembly you
obviously have the lower half of the HVAC box off already.
Go ahead & jerk off the top half to: have the fan re-done,
the heat exchanger cleaned & tested, the A/C evaporator
same/same. And, AND renew the cowl flap perimeter seals
on top of the "box". Hardware store self adhesive window
weatherproofing strips work fine. Foam strips have advanced
alot in 30 yrs. = they last longer. It's a thankless task dealing
w/those four cowl nuts/bolts on top for one person working
alone. It can be done w/bracing inside. Replacing hoses is
anyone's call while you're @ it. It's your call. Good luck . . .

Thanks David. Yes, I got the fan working again - how do you go about having it "redone"? Who does that kind of work? I am sending the heater core along with the radiator to the radiator shop tomorrow.
Thanks,
Rob

By re-done I meant either a good oil bath to ensure it'll
work a long time or if you're really lucky finding a shop
than can put in new mtr. contacts. That's all . . .

I seem to recall someone here (thinking either Allen Lofland or one of the Jims: Keller or Fierst?) retrofitted a modern 3-speed blower motor and simply skipped connecting one of the motor's speed circuits to the stock 2-speed dashboard switch.
