Hello all,
Anyone got knowledge of using an 8V cylinder block to replace the one in a 16V integrale? Basically, bottom end duff so plan is put the 16V head and pistons on the block from the 8V engine.
Are the conrods the same/compatible?
Is the crank same/compatible?

I'm 99% sure you can use the 8v block no problem at all (I assume you mean a 8v grale block with the piston cooling injectors...). Just check the water and oilways in the head match up with the block to be sure (I think the HF4x4 engine may have an extra oilway that apparantly is ok to leave open). If you want to be certain ask on the evoforum...
Maybe a cheaper option:
If you see a cheap Thema Turbo 16v (exluding the series 3 VIS engine) then buy that and throw the engine in (You will need to exchange the inlet, Turbo and maybe exahust manifold, the rest is the same).

Thanks Martin,
I telephoned Evo Engineering today and they reckon that the crankcases are compatible although the oil feed/return to the turbo may present a small challenge depending on exact age of donor engine. Having "lurked" at Evo Forum I doubt that I would get a straight answer there, probably get told that I should have changed the oil more frequently or similar. Actually it is not my engine (my integrale is an 8V version), the swap is for a friend whose Evo 1 didn't last long after he bought it. We are in Scotland so Lancia engines are pretty scarce, however I heard today about a Thema in a breakers yard - no info as to valve count as yet.
