Researching the registration records of a car registered in Italy in 1972 or 73.

Is it possible to find out any information of whom were the past owner(s) of a car and, if so, how I could start the process going? :scratch:
Note that I have the engine and chassis numbers and not the registration number.
Hoping someone can provide some advice.

Judging by the photo attached to your post you are talking about a Series 2 Fulvia Sport. Have you tried asking Roddy Young who maintains the Fulvia Zagato register? His e-mail is young937@btinternet.com. I assume that you no longer have the cancelled Italian logbook - although these are of limited assistance because each department used to issue a fresh logbook when a car moved from one geographical region to another. Mine did at least record that the first registration was in Bologna - so I have a Zagato Bolognese!! The only other possible source would be Zagato but I have heard that their early records are no longer available.
