I was in an accident many years ago in which we were rear ended, so I'm sort of nervous without some headrest protection. I've been considering ways to add them to my stock seats. It doesn't seem too complicated and I'm sure I could manage to do it more esthetically than Lancia did. I find their solutions to be uncharacteristically clumsy for Italian design. Has anyone tried this modification. I know I could always go to aftermarket racing seats, but I like the stock ones.

I feel the same way about seats without headrests. Mine had lost the original sets long before I acquired it, and had been fitted with modern Sparco race seats. Very safe, but totally wrong. So I put in copies of period rally seats with headrests. Better lateral and limbar support, as well as the headrests, but looks right.

2 days after posting, I was driving home in my Subaru when I was rear-ended and pushed into the car in front. No one hurt but my passenger and I both got a renewed appreciation of headrests (which we slammed into twice). So I post this as a warning to the headrestless...

Hope you're both OK. But it's yet another useful warning.

so, what options are there. is it possible to do anything useful without replacing the original seats?
