Hello DJ,
Do you have the Dedra Manual in the old downloads, as Neil Cundy was putting it on for me as for some reason I couldn't, so I sent it to him on a CD but I've never seen it in downloads?
If it's not there I'll try again.

I had 2 Dedra files which I've just uploaded. One is adjustment data and one is the manual excerpt for the 2.0 automatic.
I've also just uploaded the Thema 8.32 engine excerpt and the owner manual.
Please do try to upload some files again and let me know if you have any better luck with the new system.

Sorry about that folks.
I didn't realize there were some permission settings I needed to adjust. You should see the controls for uploading now.

Please try again and let me know if it doesn't work.
Once I turned the upload function on it revealed another bug in the code that hosed up access to the whole site. Hopefully, it's all fixed now.

What is actually there I've just had a look and it says there's the manual less automatic 2.28 mb which in fact should be about 150mb? so I don't know whats missing, I was having problems reloading a week or so ago and haven't had time to try again since, I'll have a try later on, if it doesn't work, I'll get you to PM your address, and I'll burn you a CD.

Ot says "Dedra Manual Excerpt" automatic etc and that's exacty what it is - it's an excerpt from the manual - just the auto box bit. It's not the Dedra Manual except automatic! It's ONLY the automatic box part!

Brian, where are you trying to go when you get this message? The file uploaded just fine. I simply have to approve everything now in this new module. I'm looking to see if there's a way to prevent that.
Do you have cookies disabled in your browser?

DJ, That's the message I get after attempting to upload by pressing add button I then wait as it says "uploading File" while the green bars follow the progress after the box is full of green bars, i then get the message.
I have twice now attempted to load the "Engine" File 130.020 KBs, but twice this has failed at the final stage.
as far as I'm aware I don't have cookies turned off, how do I check?

Hi Ed,
Unfortunately this file didn't didn't load, could it be that I can't upload that much at one time? I'll try a small file again later today, if that's the case how do I upload the complete manual which is about 150 MB?

DJ will know better than I will, but it's been my experience that FTP sites that they either work or they don't. If someone can upload a file, then the FTP site is most probably working fine, which means that an upload problem is more likely at your end. 150Mb is a large file to get out of your own system, and the longer it takes to transfer, the greater the chance of an integrity problem. at which point it just drops the transfer. From my standpoint, the largest file I've uploaded was about 14Mb, and there was no problem with the transfer. And it would be bizarre for an FTP site to have a file size limit remotely close to your file size. Odds are the issue is at your end.
BTW, if your manual is in PDF, and you have a copy of Acrobat, you can open the PDF, go to the 'document' menu, and select 'reduce file size'. It's often very effective at radically shrinking the file size. If it works, it makes everything easier and quicker to handle.

I think my email upload limit is 10mb so perhaps that's the problem, however I'm using Acrobat 9, I've gone to document and opened the file, but I can't find any instruction to "reduce File Size"? I tried reduce the screen image to 10% and saving that, but that didn't work either and it only reduced the file size to 21 MB.
I'm now going to try and load the clutch section which is 1.78 MB and see what happens.

Brian,
You need acrobat pro for that feature.
You can get a free 30 day trial demo version here.
http://tryit.adobe.com/uk/acrobat9/trial/?sdid=EKBTH
That's what I did when I put them up last time. But even from work it took many attempts to get stuff to upload, and we handle files sizes far in excess of this with no problems. I gave up in the end as it didn't matter where or from what computer I did it from, if the file size was greater than about 5 meg it usually kicked me out. Usually it seemed as though the login to the site was timing out - something I still get now. If I log in and say write a response, if it takes longer than about 5 mins to compose then I find I have to log in again.

Thanks Neil,
I'll give it a try but I uploaded the Clutch and steering parts of the manual this morning, 1.74 MB & 3.75 Mb respectively, but neither are showing as yet.
At the end of the day it's going to be far less hassle from my point of view to burn a copy of the CD, and send it to anyone who needs it, as I'm about to do for Mikey.
I don't have the problems you're experiencing with the log in though?

It did load. As I mentioned previously, I just have to approve all file submissions. As far as I can tell, your files are all there.
I didn't realize there was an error for everyone on upload. I'll investigate.

That shouldn't be happening either. Do you have cookies enabled? You might try deleting any cookie with a reference to "lancisti" in it's name and log-in again.

Upload speeds tend to be slower and files size restrictions smaller than for downloads. Neil may well be correct that the "reduce File Size" feature only exists in Acrobat Pro; if so it's worth every penny of the cost difference, though Neil's free trial download sounds the trick. If you can access it in Acrobat, open the document you want to reduce; on the top menu bar, you'll see "File" "Edit" "View" "Document" &c. Open the "Document" menu, and about 5 commands up from the bottom of the menu is "Reduce File Size".
