Buying a Beta Spyder - advise please!

I am thinking of buying a Beta Spyder to use as a daily driver in the UK. I do about 12000 miles/year. I think I have found a good one with <100000 miles on it new hood and seats and sound bodywork. Any hints and tips on what else to look for? I'm not a mechanic so, keep it simple for me please :D Is this just an insane idea anyway?
