Issue: Seems like there's no real source for outer CV boots on the Scorpion, the 128 boots work fine for the inner ones which are a parts bin solution for many fiat products.
Fix: 1978 Air Cooled VW Vanagon outer CV boots, from Car Quest.
This is a 100% compatible part, right size, length etc, looks perfect
functions as OEM.
Issue: Tie Rods sourcing and replacing You need to cut the tie rod ends down about 1/4 - 1/2 inch if you have sourced them from the late X19. If you don't do this then you will be unable to align the car at all and risk putting heavy stress on your front end. I found out when on the Computerized rack that the adjustments we not possible without the mod.
Fix: Cut as needed, align to factory specs, then adjust to performance needs as you so require.
Issue: Performance Exhaust
Fix: Make one that's better than the over the counter options!
I didn't feel like buying a CSC or Ansa custom system for well over 1000.00 or worse, so I cam up with a plan with help from the guys at Auto Options Performance shop. We ordered the Allison Header system from Los Angeles, connected it up with the 2.5 inch collector, ran it to a high end performance glasspack freeflow exhaust with an aftermarket cat. Then looped it around to the outside of the muffler in the rear and exited with a 45 degree angle twin tip resonator. The total cost of the system was about $600.00, the results are incredible, the flow is totally unrestricted and weighs about 25lbs less! sounds amazing, not too loud but really growly and solid, I also retained the EGR system line for the CA law. This system if sold as a "kit" would be one of those pricey options just like what you see available. The system we designed really has the rally car look and sound with a precise and custom
application for a one of a kind setup. If anyone wants the parts list to make this kit, please email me.
