A while back I posted a question about whether or not anyone had tried the $150 for four rotors and pads advertised on ebay. Well, last week I ordered them and had the folks at Bilbo Automotive install them.

Other than having to grind down some of the surface rust on my hub and calipers, the rotors and pads fit perfectly. The slots make a little noise when you apply the brakes at high speeds, but the braking is much stronger now.

My prediction was that these would be less grabby then the 30 year old pads and rotors, which they are. You can apply more brake pressure without having the front wheels lock up.

The guy put them on sale for a while, so i paid $150, they are listed at $165 again.

Too bad they are drilled, I am looking for just slotted.

Oh the guy said he would do whatever you want... He is custom building these...

the rotor shown in the picture is on the wrong side of the car. Slotted rotors should 'sweep' the dust/gases 'out' of the disc when rotating. As you have probably found out, slotted rotors are direction (2 LH & 2 RH).

Uhg, so ill look tomorrow and see if the other side is also the wrong way... Does this actually make a difference?

Rotors w/ internal curved or tilted cooling vanes are directional. For slotted and crossdrilled rotors without internal curved/tilted cooling vanes, the direction of the slots doesn't make any difference.

I have to agree w/John Allen: wrong side = slots heading
the wrong way. Make a diff. ?, I would think so. Cause pad
damage ? dunno. That was a good article but these rotors
are solid, slotted & "X" drilled w/o venting.
