I'm going to be in England next week. I don't do castles but I do junk yards... Is there anything handy to Ware in Hertfordshire that might have some Fulvias? looking for small bits. Rick

Hi Rick,
I'm about 15 miles from Ware and I'm not aWare:D of any place nearby. Having said that you're very close the M11 motorway and if you keep going up that north towards Norwich, you'll get to Omicron in about an hour and a quarter, just a short hop for an American!
One thing though Rick, we lock people up here for talking to themselves.

Hi Rick,
You would have to very lucky to find any breakers in the UK with any Lancias, let alone Fulvia, most of our old type breakers have gone, and the sites been cleared, supposedly for environmental reasons, a lot of the breakers left recycle, and have to have a licence to do so.
So the days of finding in car in a breakers, and going and getting the bits off yourself are gone, due to the real bugbear in our life here "Elf and Safety" a catch all term for stopping or fining you for doing something you've always done previously without a problem.
As alex said, if you've got the time, a trip to Omicron is worthwhile.

Sad but true.....despite us all being grown ups we are not actually allowed to do anything remotely dangerous without signing a disclaimer.
The lack of breakers yards is probably one factor which makes "barn finds" so appealing as they represent the only real chance of finding a hidden gem nowadays......and ebay of course if you are (a) brave, and (b) lucky.

Thanks all. I'll make a pilgrimage to Omicron.. Glad I asked.. Put your orders in now for the small chit (sic) that I can bring back. Warning! Wheels and cylinder heads are out of the question!

Always looking for Ford Kent engine blocks. It only a small block, but probably won't pass for carry-on luggage.

You had best take better care of them and quit storing live explosives in them.
