Hi,
I'm the original owner of a '79 Beta Coupe that I bought new in 1980 in the Phoenix area. The car was basically babied by IMM in Tempe when they were really active in FIAT/Lancia. Its a 2 litre with an 1800 head (ported), Euro cams, a bigger single carb, ansa header and the air pump has been replaced with a gulp valve (I definitely recommend that as an alternative to an air pump if your state allows it). I think it currently has about 120K miles on it and is lovely to drive.
It has the cloth interior and is white. (both paint and interior need some luvin at the moment but no major rust) I have the volumex front and rear spoilers on it.
I'm currently getting the mechanicals sorted to get it back to a solid daily driver (a lot of pretty basic stuff, nothing serious). Next is paint and interior. If anyone has recomendations for getting the interior done in the Seattle area that would be great.
I have a factory fresh transaxle sitting in storage I got a number of years back and hope at the end of the year to get a fresh engine put together for a complete "new" driveline.
Since this is now my longest runing 'relationship' I plan on keeping the coupe indefinitely. It's fun to think that I've had "Gina", my coupe for 30 years! :-)
I'll try and post some photos if I can find them.
Michele
