If anyone has Sky HD tv, there is a program on Anytime (red button in planner) about making the Murcielago SV. Whether you like Lambos or not it's a pretty good program available until Monday 8th March.

It's called 'New megafactories'.

Seen it, awesome program. They also do the Rolls Royce, Audi R8 and Porsche 911. :)

Haven't seen the Audi one yet, but the Porsche was something else, you gotta give it to them, they've got some serious tech in that place.

I was lucky enough to have a tour of the design rooms and factories at Rolls Royce and Aston Martin. A colleague and I had to make a Chalkstripe cloth cover for the unveiling of the Aston 1-77 (we're Tailors), it was all very secretive especially when we went to the place where the clay 'sculpture' was being turned into a real shell- disclaimers signed, phones handed in, body search etc. It was cool though.

Amen brutha!

I watched the 911 GT3 and the Murcielago back to back one evening last week. That series is incredibly produced and great in HD, I think it was on National Geographic Channel in my market.

Seeing the two shows one after the other really emphasized the differences in how these cars are built. The Murcielago spends 2 1/2 hours at a "station" where the 911 spends 2 1/2 minutes (IIRC). The Germans said "if a techician has to put 20 bolts in at a station, lets have a robot do it". The 911 goes through 117 "stations" compared to the Lamborghini passing though only 12 or 13...

I hope they broadcast the Audi one again, I suspect that will be similar to the 911. Of course I almost forgot, I watched the same show where they showed the new Camaro being built. It was fairly impressive as well, however when you saw the Germans and Italians building cars they looked like true professionals, the Camaro was quite a bit more "blue-collar" to put it very nicely...

Yeah the 911 isn't exactly built like an exclusive car, but then it's only exclusive to a certain demographic and it's certainly not an exclusive car in that demographic, I'd still love one though.

You need to see the Audi program, you'll be pleasantly suprised. Basically it's handbuilt by humans and only sprayed by robots for Eco reasons. I was very impressed but the fact it has a very similar frnt end to their normal cars ( which I like)and they seem to get facelifted every other month means it's going to have dated looks long before it becomes a classic. IMO.

Great they're building the car in the way they do though
