Hi Lancisti,

I thought I'd join here as I've got a Fulvia 3 that I'm planning to get back on the road after a long time in hibernation (10 years to be precise).

Its got a few problems that need addressing, including front subframe related problems causing cracks in the front wheelarches, so I'll probably have a few questions for anyone who has dealt with this problem on their own Fulvia.

Stu.

Hi Stu,

Welcome to the forum!

If you're getting the classic cracking at the tops of the front wheel arches, you have either a cracked subframe or a failed mount (which could be either the rubber silentbloc or the mounting point on the body; either way you'll need to drop the subframe to assess the problem and fix it.

Thanks, yes I've always known that would be required but lack of cash 10 years ago meant I put the car in storage rather than fix the problem. Expect to see questions about this on the Fulvia forum. Apart from the wheel arches and their underlying cause the car is remarkably sound.

I just hope the engine hasn't seized up!

The subframe issue itself is far from fatal, and can be put right fairly easily. Good luck with the mechanicals.
