Can anybody tell me whether 1600 distributor caps are hard to come by. I've seen a couple on ebay

I only ask because I was cleaning some engine parts yesterday and when I took the HT leads off the distributor cap two of the turrets had been heavily built up with solder. I've no idea whether they'd been broken or melted, but being aswell a cap is usually only 15 quid, I thought why would someone waste half an hour repairing, false economy of the highest order. Unless there's a good reason for it.

So I'll probably grab one of the ebay ones, any particular one i should get?

No good reason to waste time screwing around with a soldering iron on what's essentially a disposable item; they're not hard to find. (If they were, there wouldn't be two of them on eBay for 20 pounds with shipping...)
