Just popped up on E-Bay. I know Jim doesn't like that blue
metallic but I do. So there! No affilliation, no link. Sorry.

I'm ok with the blue when it's shinny and new, but after 6 months or so when it is faded or worn thru to the metalic, that's when it's a turn off to me! LOL......it's a problem with most metalic paints though from all makes, not just Lancia, especially silvers and golds

I had two, a 1979 and a 1982 in that same exact color. In fact, when the 82 appeared on ebay, I pulled out my ancient receipts to find out if it had formerly been my car. Alas, it isn't. My car was a later production, with a vin that ended in 4288. I sold it in 1989 for $4250 in Pennsylvania. It was, except for some very minor stone chips on the front of the hood, as close to perfect as a 69k mile could be. In 1990 or 1991, a relative of the buyer called to ask if I wanted to buy it back for $3000, since the buyer had passed on, and she just wanted it gone. Sadly, I didn't have the money at the time, just having bought a house...

Back to the issue of color, I always felt the zagatos always looked better in red or black.

I like that color Craig as my 1ST two were that light sea blue
metallic. 1ST one was my '78 Sedan. Not a great factory paint
job as the base blue paint crazed under the clearcoat. But the
blue paint/clearcoat on my '81 Coupe was exceptional. After
a wax it had amazing depth. FWIW my '82 LBZ & '76 Scorp were
factory Rosso Corsa [red], were re-painted same w/clearcoat.

Personally, I've always been partial to white or silver for the Zags. I think an Audi-style metallic white would look stellar on an '82 Zagato in top shape (like the one Lofland had), but somehow I don't think that finish would suit the earlier models' recessed grille treatment, so I'd prolly stick with silver or solid white on those.

I've seen some LBZ photos that appeared to be a darker, warmer silver, almost more of a titanium color, which looked fantastic, but that may be a non-factory respray. Also saw a pic of one that looked like a sort of medium bluish-grayish "blued steel" metallic, similar to what some early-80s Audis had (remembering this from an '83 Audi 5000 Turbo with the matte-titanium brightwork trim, which I once admired).

Although my '82 LBZ was a non-factory dark metallic gray which I liked, my favorite color scheme is the John Player black with gold stripes and wheels package. I hope to eventually own one of those.

Alex, we'll get you back into a Zagato, but let's make it a Fulvia like your avatar. There's a nice one, not that far from you, that's going to be coming available in a couple of months...

I KNOW Ed, I KNOW! Even Harlan has told me that if he ever decides to split up his set of two, I'm on the top of the list! I've got to get me one of those beautifully nasty Zagato's...now if I could just find the funds!

Save those pennies. I just got a call this evening about a Fulvia Sport that will be available soon (not one of Harlan's)...

Alex, love that dark grey! It's a shame it wasn't offered as an original color. It's very becoming on the car.

Here's another nice custom re-paint variant [English]. Some
may recall those are BMW bumpers. Was never able to find
out what particular model/year BMW. Sure fit well though!

I always did think a two-tone scheme like that would suit the coupe's (and its derivatives') body lines, maybe even a tricolor with black up to the bumper line crease, silver or gray up to the next crease, and white from there on up.
