Hello everyone, my name is Chris and just thought I would say hello. I'm the proud owner a Series 1 Fulvia Sedan (65 2C). I drive it pretty much everyday, to and from work, shopping and various outtings. I just used my Fulvia in my wedding last month and it was blast! People get a kick out off seeing such an odd car.
Happy Motoring!

Chris,

Welcome to the forum! And congratulation and best wishes on the marriage, too. I know the car, and it's great to hear that it's getting such regular use.

Ed,
I bought this car sight un-seen from Anthony Ramicci (spelling?) in San Diego in July of 2008 and it has been mechanically a superstar. Lancia expert Jaan Hjorth maintains it which might have something to do with that. I owned at 72 BMW 3.0CS as well but found the Fulvia way more fun to drive.

Chris,

I know your car (chassis 818.100.057748 ) pretty well. I originally saw it when it was owned by my dear friend Adan Figueroa here in LA. He reluctantly sold it to a cousin, who kept pestering him to sell it, but who turned out to be the wrong person to own a Fulvia. That individual, in turn, sold it to Anthony Rimicci, who along with his father has a shop in Northridge (LA Valley) that specializes in Alfas but also works on some of out Lancias, including Adan’s. Anthony bought the car from Adan’s cousin because he knew it from Adan’s ownership. Adan’s cousin had the car serviced by Jaan Hjorth, who certainly knows Fulvias, but that’s not the real reason it’s in such good shape. Adan does a lot of his own work, and any Lancia that’s passed through his hands is likely to be fully sorted, or with very few minor issues clearly identified. I recall Adan’s frustration with his cousin’s lack of any mechanical ability, and it was Adan who suggested he take it to Jaan for help with some very basic tune-up issues that most owners could have sorted themselves.

So, as I say, I do know the car. Adan only agreed to let go of it because it was his "second" Fulvia berlina. He has an S1 Fulvia GTE (1.3 engine) in absolutely perfect condition, completely original except that it currently runs a 1.2 Coupé gearbox which has a longer final drive, so that it’s more comfortable on the highway. And I do remember your car being a lovely example; I have no doubt it's a hit in Berkeley.

When you have a chance, please send me an e-mail (just click on my forum name), as I’m working on a register of all Fulvias in the US/Canada (you thought it odd that I knew the chassis number?), and I’d like to keep track of your contact info. You should also consider joining the American Lancia Club; there are a fair number of members in NoCal.

Hi Chris,

I've been lucky enough to have a ride in Adan's GTE, if yours is as good as that, you've got a great car, I'll never forget how well the doors and boot(trunk) shut.

It's a very cool car and a nice touch using it for the wedding, my Brother used his Zagato, it seemed to make the wedding more romantic.

Cheers,
Alex

Welcome Chris.
Excellent choice in the 2C. I am in NYC and know the crew out there. Adan and Ed are the best two out there I know and met personally(see you soon). I have two Fulvia Berlinas here in NYC(mine-'66 2C good friends-'67 GT). Both kept indoors in a vintage NYC ex-Firehouse. I am very active with these berlinas here and do not hesitate to ask away at anything you may question. These cars are rare here and an eyeful when out and about. Please post some more pics of you car soon.

Best of luck and congrats!

I was able to find an original steering wheel from eBay italy after a few months of searching. I have not been able to locate any lower trim... Im keeping my eyes out. Glad to see there's a least a few more folks who drive sedans. Are you aware of any for sale that arn't in Europe?

Hi Chris,
I also own a 2c but a RHD, when was your 2c first registered? mine was registered in the UK as 1st January 1966 but she must have been built in 1965, but she seems to have a pretty early chassis number 8181010 45617 that I'm beginning to wonder if in fact she was built in 1964, the first year of the 2c, hence my interest in the first registration date of your 2c.
Just Checked in "La Lancia" and 2c's were built from 1964-1969 with the chassis range starting at 40001-88266, which makes my 2c the 5616th built & yours the 17,747th built.
Are your armrests and the front wheelarch pockets in the same colour as you door trim pads, or are they black? do you have chromed rear lights with seperate lenses? or are they one piece plastic lenses.?
I see there is a reference to you wanting a lower trim? do you mean the black crash padding that's at knee level? if so which one? I have the one to the left of the glovebox lid that is for LHD and doesn't fit my RHD.
If all of this trim is in poor condition with the foam disintegrating, I had the same problem on my 2c that I overcame by scraping out all the old foam, and by reusing the metal former inside, I rebuilt them using builders foam from a spray can, and trimming off the excess afterwards, it worked very well. can you post underbonnet photos if possible please including the hood rail.
Best Regards
Brian
