Hi there
I am having the engine from my 'Project' checked over at the moment.
The shop doing the work has told me they require +0.40mm piston rings have have not been able to locate any through their usual sources.
Can anyone suggest a possible source please?
Thanks

Hmmm.

A quick check of my normal sources shows that I know where you can get a good deal on new .40 over pistoni without rings as well as a place to get STD, 0.20, and .030 rings. The 0.40s may be elusive. Let us know if you find a source.

Have Rod at TMH on the case as well as many other helpful comments from Consortium members.
Suggestion has been made of International Autoparts but their website does not seem to show what I am looking for.
Thanks for your comment and will keep the forum posted with any news.

Hi,

Try Martin Willems in the Netherlands (use Google) or Meijerink in Enschede.

Good luck!

Cheers, Pieter

Hi there
The search still continues.
I have managed to locate a supplier of 84.40 pistons and rings at International Autoparts. These are listed as being for a Beta Coupe. Reference to Technical Data appears to suggest these could be used in my Monte engine but I am not sure.
In discussion with Guy Croft he suggests utilising +0.60 rings and reducing them down. His website gives some guidance on doing this.
I have put all this to my engine man for him to ponder on.

Can anyone offer guidance at all please?
Thanks
Tom

Success:cheers:
Vicks Autos had what was wanted and all being well a set of rings are on their way as this is being written.
A little 'plug' thought service from them was first class.
So onto the next item to sort out:scratch:
