Hi Everyone
We’ve received a couple of questions recently about accessing our website and online shop. Just to clarify things, here’s an outline of how we are structured. We know some of you have bookmarks in your favorites lists that go back to the days when we had just the one UK-based site, which was online long before we introduced our online shop. For those of you with older bookmarks we’d suggest you update your favorites list from the links below. Following on the problems we had with our service provider earlier this year we’ve spread our web presence over three separate sites, each hosted on a different server. That way if one server fails we don’t disappear completely! The current setup looks like this:
[1] http://www.montehospital.com our main site
[2] http://www.montehospital.net automatically redirects you to our main site
[3] http://www.montehospital.net/shop alternate access to our online shop if our .com site fails
[4] http://www.montehospital.org automatically redirects you to our main site
[5] http://www.montehospital.co.uk automatically redirects you to our main site
In addition, some of you may have been around long enough to remember the PDF product data files that the Monte Hospital’s founder, Chad Eyton-Williams, used as an online catalog before they were superceded by our online shop. For historical purposes these are still available online but they are not updated. We figured that the pictures and descriptions in the online shop should be sufficient to make these pages redundant, but as a courtesy they are still available via the ‘Parts Catalog’ link on our home page or directly at http://montehospital.com/catalogue.htm. If you have this page bookmarked please be aware that these PDF files have not been updated since 2006 and we plan to phase them out shortly. We strongly advise you to bookmark sites [1] and [3] from the list above and remove any other ‘Monte Hospital’ bookmarks you may have.
From time to time we may also temporarily remove products from our online shop, usually if we have issues with manufacture or supply. A case in point is the ‘competition style’ front bumper we introduced earlier this year. When we received the first production batch it quickly became clear that they were not up to our usual standard, so we have withdrawn them pending a rework of the moulds by the manufacturer. As soon as we are happy with the product we will fulfil our existing orders and re-introduce this item in the online shop. If you can’t find the part you need in our online shop, just send an email to support@montehospital.com and we’ll let you know whether or not it’s something we can help you with.
When Linda and I took over The Monte Hospital back in 2007 we reached an agreement with Chad that he would continue to manufacture some parts for us for a minimum period of two years. That anniversary coincided with Chad selling his house here in the UK and moving permanently to France, so for the last six months a lot of our time has been spent finding new suppliers for the items that Chad used to manufacture. Naturally, with the short notice we were given of Chad’s departure, this has meant some parts have gone out of stock while we find new suppliers. We are slowly getting on top of this situation, but please bear with us while we find alternate sources. Remember, the last Scorpion rolled off the production line 32 years ago and the last Montecarlo was built 28 years ago. Lancia only ever produced around 7500 examples of all variants so sourcing even simple service items is becoming harder as time passes. We’re enthusiasts at heart, otherwise we wouldn’t be running The Monte Hospital, so please understand that although we can’t always ship you everything you want the moment you want it, behind the scenes we’re doing all we can to keep our cars on the road.
