View Full Version : Anyone use eBay for Beta parts anymore?

Not to say some of the stuff I see on there don't have owners pretty darn proud of or too dang attacthed too what they are trying to sell, but, I don't see people bidding on things reasonably priced either.
So I was wondering if everyone has become pretty much as fed up with that source as I have become, or is it just the season? I also am asking because I have just a couple real odd ball things left for Betas I ran accross cleaning things out I would like to get rid of yet to get them on to someone who'll use them instead of throwing them away while getting me a couple bucks fun money too.

Often I find ebay doesn't have exactly what I need, when I need it. I bought my whole car off ebay, I have a couple search agents set up for parts I know I'll need, like a solution for my worn shift linkage, and I got my stock sedan shock inserts from there too (will now be using some Konis I got from DJ). But most of the stuff I've needed so far has been cheap enough to the point where I don't expect much in the way of savings, and go with vendors as a more reliable solution.
Have you already posted the stuff you need to get rid of on the classifieds here?

E-mail me 1ST for any quote-unquote stuff you want to get
rid of Jim! I have a modest amt. of storage space left. As
for E-Bay Beta stuff it's hit or miss, checking regularly which
is admitedly a pain. Plus it's gotten almost ALL Pay-Pal: me
no like. One of my "striking gold" E-Bay examples was a NOS
gas filler pipe to gas tank hose, in the bag, PIRELLI visible.
My old one wasn't torn nor breached, but 30 yrs. exposed?
Never thought I'd find one. Squirrely curves in that hose. Was
$10 + $2 shipping. Checking E-Bay often + patience necessary.

Agreed.
I use my donor for most of my oddball parts, yet I do look on ebay for various things I know I can't get from a supplier (still looking for a washer container/pump!). FYI, I bought the dash cap from 'azbob,' and I'll let everyone know how the install goes.
Most of the suppliers I've dealt with have been helpful, with only a few who seem to only care about the bottom line (fleecing money from insane Lancia owners!).
Put me in the long line of people who are more than happy to rummage through things Jim has left over!

What I have is really trivial, end drive distributor pickup coil shield, the plastic one that's always missing cause it falls off when you change rotor and cap, new end drive distributor lower bearing/bushing I had 10 custom made when I was over hauling for others, some rear suspension long bolts, 2 exhaust and 4 intake studs for fuel injected motor, and some other tiny tid bits, like the drop in seat track capture nuts that strip out easy and stuff like that.
Anyway, I went out and looked over eBid, (another web auction site similar to eBay I found), they have a few Lancia items listed, one notable is a "new" suposedly fuse box with cover
No I haven't listed anything in the classifieds here yet, I like auction form, I never feel like I ripped you off or I didn't get enough when it is sold auction style! LOL

(still looking for a washer container/pump!).
BetaBoyz have repro washer tanks (http://www.betaboyz.co.uk/Catalogue.htm), and I think the pump is a fairly generic item for which others here can name a more specific interchange (IIRC, something about a Ford?) available at any local parts store.

I would go with Beta Boyz washer tank, exact repro of original made with much better UV resistant materials, and priced very fair

Ebay has been very disappointing during the last year, it seems like there used to be a wealth of beta parts most of the time. I am still trying to decide whether to sell the Zagato or try to find another place to store her for the winter.

Tuff call jp, I say store her. This coming Feb. will be 4 yrs.
"fighting" my '82 LBZ. I've noticed E-Bay has sucked of late
re: Beta parts too. Mine runs but has countless issues: the
booster fan doesn't work, the new exhaust system buzzes
like crazy in spite of my adjustments, still dicking around
w/the linkage adjustment [s], worst of all it drives like a
coal cart as I've posted before. That really destroys any
pleasure in driving the thing. I wish you luck w/yours, do
what you wish w/it. I'm buried in mine: $18+K & climbing.
All due comisserasion [sp?] extended. Dunno what to say...
