hey all,
Found this forum i think through facebook!

I own a 1991 Dedra 1.8SE in white. She's not roadworthy at the moment, but i am working on getting her there.

Alot needs doing, exhaust, brakes, engine leak somewhere, rust in boot & under the car (doesn't appear too bad) the car has been off the road for 5-6 years, but fingers crossed, i might get there one day!

all electrics work, &Y she fires up first time every time, so i think its basically a sound car!

Hi and welcome... the Dedra forum isn't the most active on here so it's nice to see some-one posting! Having had quite a few Betas in the past, I bought a 1994 Dedra 1.6ie in 2005 to use as my daily car while I resore my most recent Volumex Coupe. I must say it is an extremely solid reliable car. It's done 177000 miles and is as smooth as silk. Drives very well and has great handling.

It has never let me down.

has great handling.

I would agree with Dedras being a nice comfy everyday car but I always thought the handling on mine, when I had it, was terrible compared with Fulvias,Flavias and Betas fabulous long distance motorway car though and very underrated otherwise

Yes I don't think the handling compares to Betas etc but when compared to "more modern" everyday cars it certainly seems to be able to embarrass them on the corners.

i would agree, from the limited amount of driving i've done in mine, she's built for comfort rather than enthusiastic driving, i suppose at the time Fiat Group left "that sort of thing" to Alfa with their 155 which as we all know is based on the same Tipo platform that Dedra was.
