HVAC booster fan. Mine used to work, then blew the fan fuse,
then the rocker switch locked up. Have new switch installed,
no blown fuse, no fan. Tested as much exposed wiring as able,
all seem okay. Still no fan. Before I tear out the console/dash
to access/test the actual blower motor where is that last con-
nector [red-black] located? Right footwell, left footwell. Approx.
location? In the recent past I pulled my Scorps. HVAC box &
I don't want to do it on the '82 LBZ if it's a wiring issue I can
isolate w/o pulling that box too. If I can find that final/lead
connector feeding the actual motor & test it then I'll know.

Refer to the wiring manual posted here, print out the color code page and the heater control pages. You should be able to figure it out with that. With key on, heater controller set to one of the positions other than "OFF", one of your wires to the switch should have power, I just went thru a similar problem on the Coupe, mine was I plugged one of the "extra but not supplied options" wires onto the switch by mistake when I re-did all my heater box/dash and wiring, I figured out what I did using the manual

Jim thanks. Confident I did the re-wire of the new fan switch
properly: blue top, red middle, pink bottom. That by sight.
My wiring manual shows no up-to-down orientation for the
switch: there is "S" for pink, then "M" for brown [middle
terminal] then "HN" for black/grey stripe which is solely
on the connector clip? When I use a test light on fuse #10
[grounded to the chassis] the far left relay buzzes like crazy.
Same thing happens when I test the upper/top blue switch
terminal: bzzzzzzzzzz. One-in-a-million chance I goofed up the
new switch re-wire. I'll try swapping positions on the switch.
Reading thru this crummy wiring diagram I have, confused
is an understatement!

Still no fan action after MUCH more testing. Now I suspect the
push-button HVAC MAIN, push-button unit, as a culprit. Maybe.
Odd is an understatement. Try more testing. I'll get back . . .

I seem to remember the red one on the bottom terminal of the fan switch, but I was totally confused while workng on it too! ha ha ha, don't know what to say to help?! I finally got mine figured out

I trust your judgement & experience Jim. My paper wiring
diagram & the PDF file here ['79 A/C Helper] shows the hot
[+] wire connected to the middle fan switch terminal. Yet
the manuals show brown as hot, not red: ctr. terminal.
Then the black w/grey stripe, violet to pink don't match
w/the diagrams either: connector color conversions. I
swapped the blue & pink wires on the switch, red still middle.
The relay is clicking instead of BUZZZZZZZZZ-ing. Still no
fan. The fan worked before blowing the fuse back when &
before the switch guts crapped out & stuck. What can I say
other than more experimenting. I pray that fan motor is okay.
