volumex carb ball bearing??

embarrassing question this... pulled the standard vx carb apart, at teh end found a wee BB on the bench, presumably its a valve of sorts. But I am unable to find out where it goes. Please help!!
on another point has anyone put an IDF on one of the se engines? Mine is fitted to a fiat so should fit under the bonnet. thanks all.

The bearing belongs in an aperture where the automatic choke bolts onto the carb proper - if you look at the 'engine' side screw that holds the auto choke onto the carb just next to that is a small aperture the bearing fits into - if you have the autochoke off completely you will see what I mean :!:

thanks Hamish, that fixed the problem perfectly. have just finished and test driven the car, a fiat 131 sport now with a lancia vx engine. incredible response and torque and SOUND! ian
