Dear All,

I don't know if this subject has been mentioned before or whether it is already known, but I seem to have solved the problem of the fuel injection cutting out on my Dedra 1.6 i.e. by fitting a set of Bosch silicone ignition leads.

I had been plagued with this problem ever since I bought the car 3 years ago, the guy I bought it from warned me about it and even told me that Lancia themselves couldn't sort the problem out, (possibly a cover up but I don't know any better). It used to happen when I changed down, especially when I braked and changed down into a corner from speed, but I learned to live with it however frustrating it was; even the times it used to cut out on the approach to junctions.

When it was time to give the car a service I decided to buy some silicone ignition leads as well. I bought all the service parts through mail order from seperate companies. The leads arrived first so I fitted them straight away whilst waiting for the rest of the bits to arrive. When I first drove the car and ever since the fuel injection has not cut out, I even delayed performing the rest of the service to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I have also tried to make it cut out by repeating, and then exaggerating, the previous conditions under which it would happen but the car has behaved impeccably to this day.

Hopefully this will help any other owners who may have this problem.
Pete
