View Full Version : Scorpion out and about. It's not ALL about Italian cars after all.

Drove the Scorpion down to Invesco Field (Mile High Stadium) today to check out our new season pass seats. (See attached pictures for Lancia content. Mostly just wanted to gloat some more to Darren about driving my car.) :D
That's right! I've made it to the top of the waiting list for Broncos tickets! At least to the top of the list of people that they think might be dumb enough to spend enough to buy Club Level tickets. If I want "regular" seats, it'll take several more years.
Apparently I'm dumb enough to spend that much money for football tickets so we will now be able to go to all the games this year.
The down side is that I could buy a pretty darn nice Fulvia Coupe for that much money. But it would be hard to justify the Fulvia as a business expense. Besides, the free pre-game massages and meet-and-greets with the cheerleaders will help to soothe my tattered wallet.

Hey DJ, that looks like a rich guy's car to me. Very appropriate to drive there in your rare Italian exotic!

Must say your roof vinyl sure looks nice 'n' tight. Hope mine's
that good one day. What kinda side mirrors are those? I thought
"Californians" were "stock". Lucia looks great as always.

The mirror is a new Californian from several years back mounted on the original stock Californian base. The new bases are slightly different.

It's funny because I'm still a bit tentative about driving any distance in her. Especially in Denver afternoon rush hour traffic. But my son borrowed my Alfa so I was forced into it. But that was a good thing because it helped pump up my confidence in the new system.

The truth is in the details DJ, with the attention to detail you put into the install I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere.
I finished my EFI upgrade last summer. 6am the following morning I pointed it towards Glenwood Springs and hoped for the best. It was a 1400mi weekend without a hiccup. Ignorance is bliss, but I double and triple checked every last nut and bolt in the days leading up to the trek.

I understand that tentativeness, but get over it.
Yours is about as close to a new car as any 30+-YO car can get. And what's the worst that can happen? Something craps out? Not likely under the circumstances. But so what if it does? You take care of it. I mean, I wouldn't start with a 1,000-mile drive as a shakedown, but think about it like a car and use it like a car.
Now, about blowing the cost of a Fulvia on football tickets...
