OK I have had this question in my mind for quite some time and have not found anything yet so I ask ya'll for some insight.
Engine model# is 828CB1A0085
I have called Vicks and Bayless and they have no clue even Dave Weaver who drives a F.I Beta every day says it doesn't match any block # he has seen it doesn't even match the 82 F.I he drives, I was looking up some block model # and they only have one letter after the 828 number, but mine has a C and a B after the 828. Any help would be apreciated.
Thanks.

None of my literature lists a 'CB' engine.
(But if you are switching to carbs, and therefore have some FI stuff for sale ... let me know. I could really use an air intake hose. The one between the throttle plate and air flow meter)

Yeah that is the problem I am having, nobody has ever heard or seen a 828CB1 motor.
yeah I have the hose it weighs about 2 1/2lbs the shipping souldn't cost very much. $40 ok? including shipping?
I also have the ECU,air filter housing(and the hose for it too), Wire Harness, Intake, Fuelrail,Throttle Body, Fuel Injectors (may not be working, dont know), MAF, and the bracket that holds the bottom of the Manifold. I have more but don't exactly know everything yet.

Just a WAG here, but are you certain the B isn't actually an 8, i.e. 828C81A0085?

Yeah it is deffinitly a B it is flat on the left side of the charachter it is distinctivly different from the 8's on the intake manifold and the block.

What are the spec on this motor compresion ratio HP Carb or FI, I mean I know that it came with FI on My car but what should it be? this motor did come factory in my 82 Beta Zagato. the 1st owner said that it felt like it had more power than he thought it should have had. Just wondering.
Could it have been an old stock that they just decided to throw FI on and left it with a 8.9:1 CR? it does have the Mechanical Fuel pump place with the cam to operate the pump.

With all due respect, Barry, this just isn't correct; you're confusing chassis numbers with engine block numbers. Chassis type 828 CB.1 is indeed an S2 berlina. But engine type 828 CB doesn't show up in any of the literature, as others have noted.
William, are you sure 828CB1A0085 is the engine serial number, and not a casting number? It's been ages since I've had a Beta, but with the Fulvias, a lot of people confuse the block casting number (which is prominent on the side of the block) for the engine serial number (which is on the flywheel flange).

Block model # is 828 CB 1A 0 and casting# is 82869691 as shown on block
The only difference between the intake # is the intake has model # 828CB1A0085 and casting # 80208831 then under the casting # there is a # 1-S91

Yeah, pretty much figured that, but thought I'd ask anyway.
At least your mystery is only the engine. I've seen worse. I've personally seen a Flavia Sport (Zagato) with a chassis type that doesn't exist in any of the reference sources.

Ed,
Yes that is a chassis number. There are 828A, 828B, 828C and 828D engines, Lancia has sometimes used a two letter engine code (eg. 828AC), but I cannot find anything in my literature on a CB engine code. Undocumented variation? Casting mistake? The wonders of low production Italian cars.

Whatever the reasons for Lancia’s financial difficulties at various periods in their existence, it’s clear that it’s never been because they were expending too much time and energy on record keeping...
