Re: 1967 Lancia Fulvia GT berlina, dark blue, with 4 speed floor shift, recently sold then unsold on eBay

NO RELATION TO THE SELLER. I thought I’d share some thoughts on this car after I drove 830 miles R/T this weekend to inspect and drive it. It will be a good buy for some Lancisti at $5,600. Unrelated to the eBay sale, I had placed a deposit on the car, but I passed on the purchase for a few reasons:

1. Some significant rust evident on left side rocker panel and lower left front fender (also shows body filler)
2. There’s a 5 inch by 8 inch steel patch welded on the floor of the trunk, either a rust repair or a collision damage repair.
3. It has a sub-par enamel paint job that was done some years back.
4. There is an unusual amount of undercoating on the car. Not sure if that is concealing any rust problems.
5. I decided to pursue a Fulvia coupe instead.

The positives:
1. it’s a USA model sold in 1967 by a NJ Lancia dealer, one year before Lancia pulled out of the USA market
2. It really is a one owner car because the seller bought it from the deceased owner’s wife four months ago, and he never applied for a new title.
3. The original owner appears to have maintained the car very well, though there are no repair or maintenance records.
4. Original manual and jack included
5. it’s a true Lancia, not a Lancia by Fiat
6. The seller is easy to deal with. He owns an import repair shop in West New York, NJ, across the river from Manhattan: Lucio Import Care Service, 6215 Park Avenue, West New York, NJ 07093, telephone (201)869-2284.

The car is worth a serious look by a serious Fulvia buyer! You can hunt up the pictures on eBay's closed Lancia auctions.

Frank,

Thanks for the follow-up. Can't say I blame you for deciding to look for a Coupé instead. Good luck with that search.

The car has been purchased by a guy from Staten Island, NY. Better luck next time. Where's that S1 or S2 coupe I'm looking for?
