Folks,
Mildly happy at the moment  Have probably the most original low mileage mint condition VX coupe staying with me for some fettling and 'sorting out' of small problems associated with 9 years of dormancy in dry storage.
Sadly, it's not mine  but belongs to a lovely chap from Aberdeen who'se had it since new - it's done under 45K miles......... 8O and in many ways is like new.
So far the whole ignition has been overhauled - new amplifier, dizzy cap, rotor arm, coil, plugs, coil etc etc.
The fuse box has come out, been cleaned and put back in and - oddly enough  - more of the electrics are working properly 8)
Next job is to replace the fuel pump, some of the fuel pipe lines, the reversing light switch and sort out the rear electrics..... oh, and the brakes. You can park in on a 1:3 and the car sits solidly without the handrake on  so I guess they need some work.
Actually, I'm like a pig in the proverbial - it's good to be back working on a 'proper' motor again  Kind of odd too - not used to a 99.99% rust free Beta without bits falling off :!:
