Hi all
just joined, I live in Perth Western Australia. I recently bought a 1971 Flavia 2000 coupe (820.031, carburetted, 4 speed gearbox) running and registered and in average to good condition. It was delivered new to Perth. Can anyone tell me how many RHD cars were made in this series? Also, and I know this is a long shot, how many officially sold in Australia?
I can't find this info on the web or in the couple of books I've seen (Brian long, Wim OudeWeernick)
thanks

Peter,
Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on the purchase!
Unfortunately, if the RHD production info you're looking for isn't in either Weernink or Long, it's going to be hard, if not impossible, to find. I do have another excellent source for production figures, but the figures only run through 1969. As counterintuitive as it sounds, you might have more luck with the Australian figures--it may be possible to track down the Oz importer, and they may still have their old records. Good luck.

Peter,
I don't know where in Australia you're located, but back in the'60s & '70s the distributor for NSW used to be Lambda Motors in Sydney, run by a fellow named Dick Sears.

Congrats with your Flavia... post a pic if you can. I have two cars like your and a third one which has the Kugelfischer system. I am busy restoring the later. I would like to know what colour your grill is and what it is made of, as I have one that is made out of plastic and is currently black and another that is chrome... maybe here in South Africa the specs differed from the UK.

plastic grilles are from 'Lancia 2000 coupé' chromed plastic is from carb and black is from 2000HF (bosch electronic injection), whilst these cars look superficially similar to a 'Flavia 2000 Coupé' there are very many differences both on the surface and under the skin, the Flavia 2000 of course had a proper stainless steel grille which in the proper pre-Fiat tradition no doubt cost an absolute arm and a leg to produce

Great thanks. The car in question was no doubt about to be butchered and made into some kind of custom car before I managed to save it. They had thrown the bumpers away, sprayed it black (very badly the paint hadn't cured properly) and put the black plastic grill in which they used a hacksaw to shape in order for it to fit.
I managed to get my hands on another Lancia Flavia which will have to donate some bits to the project, such as the proper s/s grill which is an amazingly complicated and beautiful piece of kit and the steel chromed bumpers which must be restored. I have managed to get another flavia 2000 (3rd) which I will use to provide parts for the one that is currently providing parts.

If you need production info. try contacting Fiat Historical Archieves. That is how I got information on my 1960 Appia series 3. I did all by email. There is a fee required, something like 60 or 70 euros. Here is an email you can try:
archivio@fiatgroup.com.
The gentleman's name I dealt with was Massimo Castagnola.
