Hi guys.
I have a '92 16v 2l Turbo Thema and need help.

I recently redid the cylinder head (snapped cam belt and bent all 16 valves!!!) and am now battling to get the balance shafts sorted, the motor vibrates on pull off and under heavy acceleration especially over about 2500rpm.
Does anyone have a simple solution as to how to set up the balance shafts in the correct position? Only the top gear has a marking on it to help line them up, the bottom tho doesnt and I think that is the one that is out slightly.

PS. The turbo was also overhauled so it isnt that.

Hi,
Given the lack of answers I'll have a stab !

The thoery says that they should be set up with the lobes set outwords diametrically opposite, so that they cancel out in the horizontal but add in the verticle. However I have never set any up. I would ask your question on this site :

Although predominantly a Delta site it is essentially the same engine so someone there will have done it and be able to advise.

Not much help but may be moves you on a notch !

All the best
Neil
