Hey All,

I have a Fiat 2L mostly ready to go, but I'd like to get a new oil pump rather than use an old (spare) pump. Does anyone know the correct Fiat pump which works with the Scorp pick-up?

Also, what are the clearances that need to be checked - or can someone point me to the right reference?

I believe Guy Croft's book shows all of the cross reference and clearance specs.. I don't have it in front of me right now, maybe someone else can add to this.

Thanks, Brad. I'm in Ohio right now and my Croft book is five hours away in Maryland.

It looks like Guy is saying the 2L 131/Brava pump body interchangeables with re-use of the Scorp/Monte pick-up. This would be kinda cool since I also have a 2L Brava motor. I could drop the oil pump and compare before actually buying.

Has anyone used a 2L 131/Brava pump? Aslo, Guy indicates using a different drive gear. Is this necessary in a Fiat 2L?

I'm pretty sure I used a standard 2 liter 124 pump and simply swapped the pickup. I'll look to see if I can find the Marelli box with the part number.

Just a reminder here. BEWARE of after market oil pumps. I purchased a new pump from a reputable dealer and it was so of spec it would not prime on startup, removed and installed original mareli and all was well. There is some real junk out there :( just be aware.
Since Ihave learned to spec out a used pump and keep them :)

It's interesting that just after I got done looking throigh the catalogs of some of the usual vendor, I found myself thinking, "what kinda junk pump are they going to send me? I'd probably be better off refurbing my own". So Allen, you just confirmed what I was already thinking.

I'm going to check the clearances of the pump already on the donor engine (was running well, with good OP a few weeks ago) and swap over the Scorp pick-up. It's not my intent to be cheap about this, Lord knows I'd spend the money, just that I'm highly suspicious of current available parts for critical areas.
