Whilst browsing the classifieds I came across this advert: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1016285.htm

Considering the amount of enhancements it's got (twin carbs, Integrale alloys, twin lights, leather interior) it appears to be very good value. Maybe the current financial climate has a bearing?

Anyway, if you're looking for an S2 Monte, this could be worth looking at.

I looked at this particular vehicle some time ago. It's price then was £6995, too expensive for me at that time.
Certainly is good value now! Could not add another to my collection.
It is only 30 minutes drive from me as well!!
Ah well, such is life.

This Monte valuation lark is highly confusing. Have a look at this car:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1035073.htm

Whereas the black car in the first post has many desirable add-ons such as 'Grale alloys, leather, TCs etc, this car is near-standard, yet its price is £2K more.

So, if Tom's correct about the condition on the black car, it's very good value - especially with 'ono'. This would make the silver car somewhat pricey.

Personally, I would've thought (prior to the current recession) that the value of the silver car's about right. But then again, I also own an '83 Spyder, so I guess I'd like to think it's worth more than £5k - especially as I'm in line for a £3k bill in the next couple of weeks :-(

If either seller reads this, I wish you the best of luck. I hope I don't appear judgemental about the pricing in any way - after all, I haven't seen either car. I do have a vested interest in the value of late Spyders though as I intend to get an Agreed Value Policy on mine, and I need to be realistic.
