Anyone have references on an electronic ignition system for the Scorpion?

For a quick and easy solution, I fitted the Lumenition kit as supplied by the Montehospital. Works great and has not given any trouble since installed 4+ years ago. Running NGK BP6ES IX Iridium plugs as well, and these haven't been removed either since then!
Of course you could use the Fiat Digiplex system, but that would require a new distributor and drive off the end of the cam, plus crank angle sensors etc. Std Marelli electronic distributor and coil off 131, 132, Beta etc, is another option, but not sure if the distributor will fit without a lot of modification. There are now a number of universal electronic trigger systems around that simply deletes the contact breaker points if that's all you are after.

Or you could go with Megajolt if you're looking to upgrade to EDIS, go the whole hog and Megasquirt if you plan of fitting FI at a later date??

Crane, Pertronix, Marelli Plex5, or swapping in a Beta exhaust cam + cam box + end drive distributor would be my top four choices for cost and ease.

Unless you are looking for a CD, programmable, or DIS system, in which case the answers change- could you be more specific?

FWIW, some of the Crane systems (like the Hi-6) are capacitive discharge (CD). But Crane just closed their doors. They supposedly plan to reorganize and come back but we'll see.

They were to be liquidated (http://www.liquitec.net/email/2009-04-06/index.html)2 days ago. It was expected someone will pick up the name, etc.
