Greetings,

Has anyone on the board had any experience with using aftermarket lug bolts on a completely stock Scorpion with the OEM alloy"bow tie" wheels?

For at least a few years now I have seen what appears to be some nice chrome lug bolts for sale on E-bay (E-bay Item number: 270365933144, url listed below). I have learned that these lug bolts are made in California, USA and they are available in the correct 19mm head size & 12mm by 1.25 pitch.

My main concern is that they are about 4mm longer than the stock lug bolts. Does this excess length need to ground off to work on a stock Monte/Scorp? Any other issues with these bolts that I should know about?

Thanks in advance,

I bought a set of these bolts a couple of years a go for my Beta Coupe.I have had no problems. The extra length is not an issue on my stock Beta wheels. The chrome plating is not the best, rust will start if you don't keep them polished regularly.

Bump...anyone else have any experience with (longer) aftermarket lug bolts on a Scorpion? TIA.

On the Scorpion and Montecarlo you need to be careful because the extra length can protrude too far past the back of the hub and can interfere with wheel rotation. You may have to cut them down a bit depending on length and what sort of wheels and spacers you are using.

Last week I had issues mounting race tires on my Scorpion. Had ordered the same dimension tires as the street tires I had been running (205-55VR14) but after mounting the race tires found that they were wider and hitting spring perch in the front.

Yesterday, welded 2 Fiat spacers together for each wheel and used the Fiat Spider twin cam w/ Panasport wheel bolts available from International Auto Parts (The Alfa/Fiat/Lancia online store in VA) to account for the extra length. If anyone needs longer lug bolts, try these.
