Can anyone explain what it is exactly?

It's a mod that upgrades the series 1 brake pedal to an imrovement on the series 2 where the action is more of a straight and direct line to push the piston as opposed to the more 'up and under' action of the series 1. Kit also includes a new pedal and threaded bar so you can adjust pedal height and travel afaik. It's on my list as the penultimate bit for my brake upgrade project.

Or, direct from the horses mouth - 'Left Hand Drive Scorpion and S1, Brake Pedal conversion to S2 and 037 Stradale pedal. This kit converts the original equipment S1/Scorpion brake pedal from a single over centre push to a more linea action. The linea action of the push rod into the master cylinder gives a much more solid feel to the pedal and does away with the softness caused by the angularity between the push rod, pedal pivot and master cylinder bore. The whole construction of this new pedal assembly is many times stronger than that fitted to the S2 as it is a fully welded construction with no plastic bearing parts. Provided your system is in good order then this pedal will provide you with the firmest feel you will get. All steel welded construction for maximum strength. Brass pivots for low maintenance and friction. Push rods are fully adjustable to give minimum pedal travel from rest. All parts required for conversion are in the kit. Full instructions and templates are included.'

Hope this helps!

I instaled on of these kits on my Black Scorp. My opinion :) is this. If you are autocroxxing and have big brake desires and asperations and want all you can get, this might be of some use to you. If your building a street car. Stay with the stock pedal and go the WHOA brake kit. You will be very happy with that combination.
But again, it all boils down to your asperations for your car. Looking back, I would not have spent the money nor the time, it is a time consuming job requiring the custom bending of tubing to achieve a good job.
Scorpion owners love to discuss :) brakes, I was lead down the merry path of personal opinion and it cost me a lot of time and money and the loss of a booster . Every one said,,, throw out the booster. Well DONT throw out the booster till you are convinced personally by using the booster a d make your own decissions :) Just MY opionion hehe.

I'm going to agree with Allen, I wouldn't mess with your braking if you already like what you have.

That said, I too built the 037/S2 mod kit as well and found it to be a very satisfying project. I also "upgraded" to a 2-hole MC at the same time which required adding a coupler and another hole in the firewall. Not saying I'm any kind of uber-mechanic, but wouldn't recommend it for the casual weekend wrencher. Some basic fabrication (and welding) skills will be helpful ...and because it's an old hydraulic system, there will be surprises, I promise.

It's a shame it's hidden under the dash, it's a little gem (IMHO).

Ok gentlemen, thanks for responding. Since i have a S2, not of use for me then.

After reading all about brake conversions, and baring in mind the use i intend for my Monte, i decided for a simple swap to Tarox G88 on all axles with tarox streedpads.

Cheers, Pieter
