I may need to source a set of rear fenders, and possibly a rear connector panel.

I looked at two cars this weekend and both of them had rear accident damage, one had right-side, the other had both.

My decision to buy either or both of these cars will rely on the ability to get rear fenders.

Let me know what's out there guys, as always thanks in advance.

Hi Sean,

The Monte Hospital would be my recomendation. There were also that group of cars that were sold a few months ago that had one being parted. Look at the ebay auctions for the guy selling a bunch of parts.

TMH page with their body panels. (http://montehospital.com/pdf_files/body_panels_exterior.pdf)

Thanks guys, I was also assuming the guy on ebay still had the chassis since he is showing all the pics on ebay. However he informed me yesterday that the chassis went to the scrapper a couple weeks ago and he is only selling the parts he pulled off the car.

I have been spending alot of time on the MH site looking at panels, it's frightful to add up what it costs to 'save' a car with either rust or body damage. I haven't written off either car yet but Im going to have to do some real soul searching...

I guess fiberglass is an option, but I feel it's only appropriate for the car which would need both sides. The car with only right-side repair I would prefer to keep it all-metal if possible.

I'll keep everyone updated, and if some rear sheetmetal turns up please let me know.

Sean, you should contact Randy Brown. He had #424 as a parts car and the rear wings looked to be good in the pictures I've seen of it. Not sure of it's status, though. Randy just posted here (http://www.lancisti.net/forum/showthread.php?p=18099#post18099) about his ongoing restoration of #221.

I suggested to him that if he's determined to throw in the towel, you might be interested in his car. Not what sort of project you're looking for but his is awesome and very close to completion.

Sean,

If you're just looking for the rear sheetmetal without spending a mint, you should be checking scrapyards and parts cars. Start by asking where he sent that gold shell and see if you can buy a couple fenders off them. I know there was one or 2 Scorps in California wrecking yards recently. I would contact Mike Mudge & Eddy Tuason. It seems one of those guys knew the location of at least one junkyard Scorp that had some good metal and bits left.

Happy hunting,
Dave

you're a little far, but I've been trying to give away a '77 roller up near Seattle. I suppose I could cut fenders off, but that and shipping could add up....

John, I may have sent you a private message about your 'roller' can you get with me via e-mail or through PM here about the car? Thanks much.

I saw that, sorry for not getting back to you. Its been raining here (it is Seattle) and I would like it to stop before I pull off the tarps and get pictures. I'll email you pictures and info later.
