Hi: I am the original owner of an 81 Fiat Spider, but today I drove a '75 Beta for the first time. This was one nice car. The car is for sale by original owner. The interior is as new and, though it could use a paint job, it is passable. One problem (for me). I NEED A/C. How easy is it to retrofit the A/C, and about how much would that cost?
Thanks!
Sam

Although it is not a terribly difficult installation, converting a non A/C car is a complex and time consuming job.
The most difficult part is aquiring the COMPLEAT A/C system including Wiring, plumbing, and the A/C oilfilter mounting bracket . In my opinion, if you Must have A/C, find a car with the factory A/C. They are much more common than the non-A/C cars. Otherwise if you find a clean well maintained Beta, buy it and drive it with the windows down, they are a blast.
