Save the date, Saturday March 14th. We have been invited by the Scorpion group to join them in their second annual run to San Juan Capistrano. Details will be posted soon.
Here is Mike Ross' recap of the run last year:
guys and gals did I just get back from a wild weekend...
I left friday at dark thirty in my old trusty stang and headed down to Pete's in Murietta - Neither of my scorpions are currently
road worthy, but the trusty old stang always runs..
Saturday morning we met a group of fellow lancisti at a local starbucks for the first tour of the year to San Juan Capistrano.
The weather gods cooperated and the weather was awesome and sunny, we drove down towards Lake Elsinore and then proceeeded
to climb the hills - Pete the Tour Leader had selected and excellent route with plenty of curves and elevation changes and many tight twisties.
We had a beautiful drive to San Juan Capistrano and met up with some more Lancisti's there, including Lu and Karla and the Littlest Lancisti,
their son Michael...gee. .great name choice!!! ha ha..
Steve Jennes and his lovely arrived in his..ahem... Beta Coupe...if you have not met Mr. Jennes and his 'beta coupe' then I can tell you that you
are certainly missing out, those of you who know him understand the joke.
We had a fantastic breakfast at Mollies, our waitress was a bit huffy at first but ol Guido laid on the charm and in no time all was well and we
were doing what we do best, eating and gabbing.
After breakfast we drove back to the vista Point above Lake Elsinore for a photo op - Talk about a beautiful view, and the lake wasn't bad either!!!
At this point you are probably thinking "sounds like a nice day', but we are far from done..we then ran up the Freeway to the Vicari Senior's home where
they had been working all day on all sorts of wonderful culinary surprises for us, BOTH of Peters parents are excellent cooks and know how to
do italian food correctly - naturally there was some tri tip on the grille and plenty of wine and beer as well.
We ate and talked and laughed and enjoyed each others company until the early evening - Then it was time to hit the road, so we did.
I want to express my affection for my Southern California friends, Peter and his parents, Eddy Tuason, Dallas Lamb, Mark Mayuga, Lu, Karla
and Michael Castillo, Gary B, James Kent and anyone else I may forget - I feel like royalty when I come down, everyone is so friendly and happy
and we do the same things we do up north - Drive our cars and live life to the fullest!!!
It's been a long and rough winter for Guido - But I expeirenced some love this weekend and I as I scan the horizon I see stormy clouds and then clear and
bright sunshine - California at it's finest.
I created a photo album titled "San Juan Capistrano Tour" and populated it with some shots from this weekend - Feel free to add any additional
pictures you may have taken.
See ya next time,
Mike
