I must say given all your M.S. posts + your attention to detail you
are about to eclipse Allen & Lynette's restore. Any thoughts of
leather seats? Amazing they were [ONLY] a $349 option back when.
Don't forget a re-do of those dash bolsters too. I admire a com-
mited Lancia restorer such as you. My restoring an '82 LBZ & a
'76 Scorp @ the same time? I should commited to the "Funny Farm".
Keep @ it !

How insulting! Lucia has always been nicer than that old rattletrap POS that Lofland had. Fer cryin' out loud, it wasn't even a proper color. In that he was able to work on the car all day and almost every day with few distractions AND that he actually had ample garage space to do the work, you'da thought he might have got it right...
Any thoughts of leather seats?
Lucia already has original leather seats that are in very good condition. (BTW, Lofland's feeble attempt only had VINYL seats.) 8)

No need for that. Lucia's perfect Italian body is matched by a perfect dash. Even the underlying ABS plastic is solid. Not actually sure how that happened.
I admire a committed Lancia restorer such as you.
I'm starting to admire people who actually have their Scorpion in drivable form...
Thanks for the encouragement, David.
PS: Allen and Lynette know that I love them. I only regret that we were never able to get our cars together.

Probably the biggest reason (53K on the odo). That and the fact that she's been garaged most of her life.

Just for the record, in case someone didn't pick up on the humor intended in my response to David's post, I was just trying to bait my good friend Allen a bit. We've razzed each other about cars for a long time.
I was truly blessed to find Scorpion #1288 which had spent the first few years of it's life in Southern California before moving to Arizona for several more, then coming to my home in Colorado. As such, she's always lived in a very dry climate and had zero body rust and only very minor parking lot "dings" when I took her to the body shop for a new paint job.
I've done a lot of work to her since but I've always had a fantastic underlying platform to work with.
Allen bought his Scorpion here in Colorado and actually drove it home to Kansas where he undertook a TOTAL stripping and makeover. He did ALL the work himself except for some machine work during the engine rebuild. His attention to detail and quality of work was EXCEPTIONALLY high and it shows in the final product. Between his exceptional body/paint/mechanical work and his wife Lynette's wonderful upholstery skills, they produced a restoration matched by few others. I'm actually surprised that he "only" got $19,000 for it when he sold it.
Regardless, the new owner has an exceptional car that he should be quite proud of. I still don't think the color's right, though. ;)

Aw, c'mon; all in good fun, as DJ says. Besides, I'm just jealous that DJ's engine compartment is cleaner than my exterior bodywork...

Lynette's "stitching" was really something! I've never seen a black
Scorpion up close & personal. They look good in pictures. That said
if you gut the entire uni-body & paint everything black inside & out,
I could live w/that. People that spray a different color w/o a thorough
job, that sucks.
