16 valve head .. .

Out of mild curiosity (I'm rebuilding one for a friend .. .) - the 16 valve head definetly seems to be made out of a different grade of ally to the 8 valve version. Is this due to magnesium in the mixture ???

Maybe there is a little amount of magnesium but both are mostly from aluminium.
