Urgent - alternator interchangeability

Hi all,

On the way back from San Francisco tonight, it seems my alternator died. By the time I got back home, my headlights were not working at all, and the lights in the dash were completely dim. Proof was when I got back in the garage and tried to restart the car - dead as a doornail, although the battery still had enough power for lights and the buzzer. I threw the battery on the charger for tonight so I can test the alternator's output tomorrow.

However, the reason this post is urgent is I may need to find an alternator tomorrow so I can do a tour Sunday. Anybody know what other cars this interchanges with? Any Fiat 124 derivative? Any idea where to get one in the SF Bay Area on a weekend?

Try Kelly Dicker at Wine Country Motors in Napa..He may be in the shop this Sat morning and may even have a replacement available.. There are some listed on Ebay that say they fit both 68 to 78 Fiat and Lancia but there no specific types listed for Lancia at Vicks or IAP to Xref to Fiat.

So I went to ASA & picked it up... $103 incl. tax. If you need one, I trust mine will be rebuilt & on their shelf soon.
