Hi all,

In treating the seats of the car with lexol, I noticed there were no rear seat belts... the buckles are there, but the DPO removed the belts for some reason. Can anybody recommend a source of either original belts, or something really close? Buckles are this style: http://www.lancia.co.za/images/seatbelt/seat6.jpg

Since there are so few Berlinas, let me know your experiences even if you have another type of beta.

Thanks!

From the look of the buckles, it appears that any standard later-model FIAT lap belt should fit. These will have a squarish hole in the middle of the tab plate (the part that inserts into the buckle) and will likely have the retractor reel encased in a plastic shell that has another short loop of belt on the other end holding a metal anchoring tab that bolts into the body somewhere (i.e., rather than some sort of hidden reel assembly that fits behind the interior trim and feeds the belt out thru a slot in said trim).

As long as you're replacing the main belts, you should probably just replace the buckle portions along with them if you can find brand-new sets, as 30-year-old nylon webbing can lose strength with age.

Also, if the rear seats fold down in a manner anything similar to the FIAT Brava wagon my folx once owned, the lower cushion may actually hinge up and forward at the leading edge, so your belts may simply have fallen underneath the lower cushions if care was not taken to hold the belts out of the way when the cushion was last lowered into place.

Those look pretty much like the ones in my Coupes and Zagatos. I have a set of rears I think, free plus shipping if you want to try them, you'll need to clean off a bit of dust/garage dirt is all. They are as described in the previous post with buckles like in your picture

And I would look under the rear seats first as suggested to be sure they are not there, I have had several vehicals that had disapearing rear seat belts when the rear seat folds! LOL

Thanks, all... my first thought too was that they'd fallen behind the seat cushion, which is easy enough to remove, but I found the mounting bolts with nothing attached. And I checked the manual, they're definitely lap belts, so I'm not missing 3-points or something.

I'd rather get new belts, but thanks for offering yours, Jim - I may take you up on it if I can't find something new that works. I tried JC Whitney and all they had was a lap belt with a plastic cover over the reel *and* the length of belt attaching it to the body - I just want it over the reel. Anybody find anything like that?

Try AutoZone, Pep Boy's NAPA, Car Quest etc.......they all have seat belt sets, or at least can order them

I've always replaced the belts in cars I've restored. While not always a perfect match, I've liked what I've bought from these guys:
