Hey folks.

As La Fenice nears completion ($190 for a caliper rebuild?!?!), something that I'd like to see if I can do myself is retrofit something for a washer fluid bottle/motor. Would a small unit from a more current vehicle (Toyota/Mazda/Nissan) work, or should I look for a compareable Fiat/AR unit? Anyone used another brand?

Also, my '79-80 Haynes manual shows that the preferred mounting spot is right in front of the battery, but my fluid lines seem to point to a spot on top of the firewall, similar to where my '86 Shelby/Dodge GLH was mounted. Any ideas?

And FYI - I haven't heard anything from the mechanic on his search for a place to part Uno for me, so I'll probably do it myself. Where and when is another story... But when I get it done, I'll have a bored 2.0 with only 20K on it, with a header.

Oh, and if anyone wants to send some money my way to appease my financial manager/CEO, make it big bills, please...;)

I believe the older Betas used the same "bag with pump" hanging on the right front strut tower, you could easily modify one of those, just add more wires from your current connection and run the main supply hose to the new location. Your's however is supposed to have a white bottle that sits below the hood grill in the cowel opposite the wiper motor location. You should see the two wire connector and studs there for mounting.

For replacement, if you don't care about original, find a good replacement in a junk yard from some other brand/model, it'll cost you what ever the junk yard min charge is and if it's a salvage yard like the one I like to wander thru locally, they may just give it to you, especially if you bring along a six pack of beer when you show up! LOL. They all run on 12 volt so it doesn't matter what brand or model as long as it will fit somewhere neatly under the hood

However, if you want original, Beta Boyz has new ones, (make sure you order for the correct side), and I think they run about $60 or so plus postage

Need for Speed in the UK has calipers for Betas, I believe cheaper than you paid to have one rebuilt, but I would have to go look to be sure, they also have various rotors, stock type, slotted, drilled, or both slotted and drilled, various pads for street, autocross or racing and braided stainless steel brake hose kits. Beta Boys sells complete stainless hard brake line kits as well
