Zags didn't come with spare tire covers, only Coupes. Spare retainers are different between the two, Coupes had a flat flip up/down hinged bracket with screw handle for securing the spare, Zags have the rubber retainer strap that will not hold the spare up if you make the same mistake I made and use some sort of slippery tire shine stuff on the spare and rubber strap! LOL

No reason you couldn't pickup a Coupe spare tire cover and use it in a Zag though so far as I know, or have an uhpolsterer make one up for you, (or find one from a smaller SUV that usually comes factory with them from a junk yard), they are only typical auto vinyl covers

David,
I have the original cover from my Coupe that I will give to you for the cost of the postage. It is a dark brown color. The only thing is it has a small dimple in the vinyl on the front and some of the seams at the very top are torn a bit from someone removing the tire and not being careful of pulling the tire past the hold down .When the spare it is in place with the hold down over the damage, the tear is hidden.I found a NOS one on ebay to replace it.I guess the thing could be repaired by an upholstery shop with some brown vinyl and a few stiches. But I will say nobody ever noticed the damage at any car shows I entered. If you want it PM me your address and it's yours.

79 and 81 Coupes have black covers

There are places that make them up, (check RV type places or listings, maybe custom 4X4 shops), and you can have custom logos put on them too. I don't have any contacts for the companies but when my dad had the RV dealership, he used to have them made up for customers with all sorts of logos/names/sayings on them........although, those may run as much as you told me it cost you to re-do the wheel! LOL
