I took the Coupe to Columbus last saturday to have Jon Logan, parts@midwest124.com set my valve lash for me, (I don't have any shims nor proper tools/knowledge), while there we put a timing light on it and I was surprised to hear Jon say there was no adavnce, not thinking, I replied I had just checked the vac advance and he replied, No, you have no mechanical advance!

So when I got up and moving on Sunday, I took it off to investigated and found:

1) Dist body mounting tab broken
2) many pieces of flat spacer bushings thru out the interior of the dist
3) pickup coil at sever angle wiping out the centering bushing on the mounting plate
4) pickup coil wires on wrong side of routing post, wires ok
5) mechanical weights frozen open

So I grabbed the dist from the Chicago Rust Bucket and made a good one from the two, now the car bump starts on the key, runs smooth as silk even at first startup, has a lot more power and no longer surges like the fuel tank has a problem. I am very happy with it's performance now! as well as relieved I do not have to do a tank and/or fuel pump swap!

It never occured to me to check the dist beyound the vac advance! Doh!

So Jerry, if you want this spare tank, let me know
