Silly question - but any idea how much a Beta or Monte gearbox weighs ?? If someone out there could drop it on the wife's/girlfriend's bathroom scales when she's out, I'd be very gratefull.. . .

I happen to have mine on the work table at the moment and am amazed at how heavy it is.

I'll try to remember to get it on the scale tomorrow.

Thanks!

I brought a spare box from Hamish (about 10 years ago.. . .) . and anything over about 70 pounds means I'm going to have to get it myself !

My spare is approximately ouch heavy. When i picked it up i was thankfully in shape thanks to climbing a lot. I had to move it a while ago and it was a right struggle. So id say its ouch ouch 'thunk'

OK. This is what I get.

Main box minus diff, etc.

66 pounds

Diff, diff cover, clutch lever & throwout shaft & bearing

34 pounds

Sooo, it looks like:

100 pounds OR
45.36 kilograms OR
7.14 stones OR, for those of us who understand how truly valuable they are,
226,796.2 carets! 8O

Thanks DJ !

Hammish - if you're listening - Interlink express will pick it up for a reasonable sum (well, more reasonable than me driving up to Carlise) .. . can you package it up a bit and when would be a good day for you ??
