My Wife, kids and dog packed up Friday evening and took off for her mom's till later tonight, (Woo! Hoo! quiet time!),.....Sooo....I have been further crippling myself in the very hot and humid garage ever since <happy grin>, it's amazing how much you can get done without the "honey do this", "honey do that", "daddy I want this", "daddy do that" interuptions, you can actually focus on what the heck your doing and get things done! of course, lots of Vicoden, Advil, Budwiser, breaks to catch up on TV racing helps too! LOL
but all that babbling aside, I:
1) dug out, cleaned and dyed black all my console pieces, (Note: if your going to dye yours
black, get two cans of Duplicolor black dye, the console material is a very pourous
molded rubber like stuff that really soaks the dye up, could be from 30 years in the sun
too of course, but they sure look much better black than green! LOL
2) Dug out my box of hardware stash and sorted the shinny from rusty hardware
3) set up my portable wire brush/grinder/buffer, (A 120V Craftsman drill mounted in my
vise), and cleaned all the brackets, bolts, nuts and such I couldn't find suitable
replacements for.
4) Removed, tore down to the tinniest of pieces my wiper assembly, gathered the best
looking and condition pieces of 4 assemblies I had sitting around, cleaned, lubed and
assembled a very respectible looking and working like new windshield wiper assembly,
then re-installed that including new wiper blades
5) Dug out, cleaned and installed like new hood latches and hardware
6) dug out, cleaned several like new factory wiring harnes plastic and metal clamps and
installed them in their proper locations, (not all is finished with that yet, it's a continuing
saga, doing sections one at a time as I go thru it), propery routing all the harness in the
process
7) Replaced and mounted the small fuse box that was buggered up for a like new one
8) re-mounted the large fuse box from recent engine bay cleaning teardown with new nuts,
washers and bolts
9) Replaced hundreds of nuts, washers, bolts, screws and several brackets for un-
cooroded ones
10) and god knows what else along the way I have long since forgotten! LOL
It is now 12:43 EDT Sunday, I have about 6 more hours of alone time to work on the Beta, so right now I am just taking a break to evaporate off, (in the 90's and very humid today), rest the muscle spasms and aurthritis and run to town for more beer!...........
.....Soooo......Whatayabindoen this weekend? (;-)
Back to the sweltering garage! Woo! Hoo!.........Ouch!
