View Full Version : Wheel bolt PCD on Delta Turbo HF?

Hi Delta people,
I am a Montecarlo S2 owner and looking to install bigger brake discs. I am reliably informed that late model Delta turbos have the same PCD as the Monte.
But the offset of the late model Delta Turbo is wrong. However the Delta Turbo HF has a disc offset of 52mm which, with spacers, will fit my S2 Monte, but I am not sure if the Delta Turbo HF has the same PCD as the late model Delta Turbo (Vented Discs)
Help please
Cheers, S

Lancias from the Beta range onwards all have 98 mm pitch centre diameter for the wheel bolts (4 studders and 5 studders). I have a Delta HF Turbo ie (1989) and it has had Beta wheels on it and currently has Dedra wheels.
I also have an S3 Thema Turbo and the brakes on that are awesome - really powerful - need 15 inch wheels though.
The Montecarlo Consortium has done lots of work on improving Montecarlo brakes but I don't know anyone who has fitted Delta discs (and calipers?). The Delta HF Turbo ie has vented front discs so you need the wider spaced caliper, not sure if the steel bit can be put on the Montecarlo front cylinder assembly.
This sounds like an interesting project - keep this forum updated please. I also have a Montecarlo (S2 Spider, chassis 4848)
btw the Deltas have a spacer on the rear hubs that might be usefuil (5mm) and I seem to remember that there is a spacer inside the front disc.
Good luck, Leo

Thanks Leo,
Are the spacers readily available?

Hi the delta turbo DISCS will fit,not sure about the calipers though? BUT they are the same daimeter as the monte discs the only difference is they are vented.Depending what wheel/tyre setup you are using, and buget, you might want to give you local AP or brembo spcialist a ring to see if they can sort you out a POSH disc/caliper setup. In the meantime i'll dig around to see what i can find out. Andy.

Andy,
It's worth checking out the Tarox weblink below, it details the disc sizes for each model.
http://www.tarox.com/english.html
I have already sourced my front calipers - Willwood 4 pots with 35.1 bore. But I need rear calipers that have an integrated handbrake mechanism
From my measurements the WIllwood calipers will not fit behind my 14" S2 monte wheels unless I use delta HF Turbo discs with hight of 52mm.

 Snakeman, its probably a dumb ass question but have you thought about using 'grale rear calipers or something similar like sierra/escort cosworth calipers? You could be right posh and use the 4x4 cozzy or escort cozzy rears because these are ment for vented discs! So you could run delta turbo front vented discs on the back!!!!!!!! :D Then all you've gotta do is find a handbrake cable to suite. This i cant help with unfotunatley as i do not have the lenths of the cable(s) and routing ETC.But if you can put me some form of specs of cable on here i might be able to sort something out.Just out of interest, whats wrong with the ones that are on the car?

Why fit bigger vented discs to a Monte?
a/ STD Monte brakes are rubbish :(
b/ My engine is balanced, blueprinted and tuned for an output in excess of 175bhp 8O
c/When finished it will not be a daya to day car, but be used on sprints hill climbs etc
d/ During racing and sprinting, a fast car is only fast if it can stop as quick as it can accelerate
e/ I like techy problems like this, and the results should be the dogs nuts. And cheap to do
Thanks for the tip on other cars that have an integrated handbrake on vented discs. :P If you know of any more let me know. In the mean time I will put rear calipers on my favorite searches on ebay. I should get daily emails on any that are on sale
Cheers for now S,

My Monte uses Thema V6 front calipers with Fiat Uno turbo vented front disks.
Rears is standard apart from grooved discs.
Braided hoses all round

Hi its me again!! Bet im getting anoying now! He-He!!! Just a quickie,if your looking on Ebay please please be careful that the handbrake linkage is not seized cos if they are you might as well burn your dollar! Anyway back to the front brakes.I know the PCD you are after but what daimeter? and your question about depth,is 52mm(i think) the overall depth?EG laying the disc on a flat surface on its rear face is it the distance from the very top of the face where the wheel sits to the surface the disc is laying on??? :? If you can understand that? :D Also hows the engine managemet coming on? Andy 8)

Yes I know about the sticking H Brake sticking calipers, but new ones are £160 each! And if I can get some SH ones for a song then great.
The diameter of the discs will be 257mm. And you are correct the offset measurement the disc manufacturers use is actually the height between the rear mating surface of the disc to the front hub facing surface.
The engine management… Well I was going to for DTA system (P8Pro) because it was reportedly the easiest system on the market to program. But when I went the DTA stand at the Autosport International Show this month, the man I spoke to was just not interested at all in providing any information or support. So I took my business elsewhere! I went to the OMEX stand. They were helpful, explained fully how the OMEX 500 system could work on my car (£600). And they sell part built wiring looms, and triggers discs that I can easily modify for my engine. Unlike DTA, who seem to just sell you a controller for close on £1000 with little or no support. I have already got the 40mm throttle bodies from Jenvey. Send me an email to: snakemasterracing@yahoo.co.uk and I will send you a picture of my engine compartment as it is now
Cheers S
