Hi all

Just wanted to introduce myself. Simon Down, currently living in Newcastle, UK. I run a 1966 Fulvia Coupe 1.2 and do a bit of sprinting and rallying in it. I have posted some pictures of the car in action. I bought the car in Australia in 2001 and have had 30,000 fairly pain free miles since (only major work repair work was a head gasket after the car did its 3 month boat trip; the rest has been replacement/improvement/saftey work).

Once I get the garage expanded this September I am hoping to get a 1200 spares coupe or running gear to do up (slowly) in readyness for when something serious goes in mine. If anyone in the UK that has a half decent running gear or spares car they they don't need, let me know.

Anyway, the forum looks great.

Simon,

Welcome! The car looks great in action.

People don't realize what a little jewel the 1.2 is; a friend has one, and the smoothness and solid feel is really unmatched. Mine's quicker, of course, but so much less refined. On a long trip, it'd be hard not to favor the 1.2.

Good luck with the spares, but you shouldn't have too much trouble finding them; despite the very slight disparity in size and population, there are more Fulvias in the UK than in the US...

Hi

thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention that my brother and I own a ser 3 appia sedan too. he and the car lives in Tuscon, AZ, but the car needs a little work, but has been with us since 1987 and was on the road for most of the 1990s

(I won't likely be a regular forumer, but I will drop in now and again.)

Is it Martin, Elizabeth or Andrew that writes Omicron's entries?

all the best

Simon

There seem to be a fair number (couple dozen) S3 Appias in the US; I hope you and he get yours back on the road.

And I think it's Andrew that handles Omicron's entries on this forum.

That's correct. It's our good friend Andrew.
