Hello,

I hope everybody is doing well this fine weekend. Has anyone on the board ever installed a pair of stainless steel full length radiator tubes that are sold by The Monte Hospital (TMH) on their USA spec Scorpion? I assume that these are the same tubes that will fit on a Montecarlo but I am not certain if there are any differences.

What should I know before I buy these TMH tubes?

I really like the idea of having stainless full length radiator tubes on the Scorpion and I have no reason to think that they won't fit on a Scorpion as advertised but I don't like the idea of shelling out near a thousand US $$$, including shipping & handling, to end up with parts that need "special adjustments" to make them fit properly.

Any and all feedback on these stainless radiator tubes from TMH is very much appreciated.

BTW: The reason I ask is that I have purchased "after market" items for other brand-X cars in the past that claim to fit just like the OEM parts and then when I go to install them there is always some "little hitch" that ends up taking the whole weekend and possibly two to resolve, after making some "special adjustment" to the part with a hammer :) or fabricating some special piece of hardware to make the d*mn things install correctly!

Thanks in advance,

Tim,

There was a group purchase some time ago for these tubes here in the USA. I want to say it was over a year ago. There was some special pricing if you got in then. It was going to be more $$ for anyone after the initial order. Now, where was this GP organized? I don't remember if it was here or if it was on one of the Yahoo forums. A little searching of the three main forums might find more details if no one chimes in.

Good Luck!
Scott

Hi Tim;
Tony Fasola set up the stainless water tube replacements for the Scorpion, the fabrication was handled by a fellow named Rick White, he has the bend geometry. His phone number is 704 793-4319, initial price was around the $400 mark. The tubes are 1-1/2" vs. 1-1/4" (stock). The ends can be swaged down to stock size or left at 1-1/2".

Thanks Will. I knew somebody would recall the details.
