Hello, I have access to a 1976 light blue Lancia Scorpion, no rust, and 46k original miles. Currently owned by a gentleman that has a bodyshop and loves european cars.

The car is complete but taken apart for paint. Car is straight as can be.

What would a car like this command for resale value to the right person?

He would hate to get rid of it to some kid who would destroy it.

He also has an MGB hardtop.

Are we talking US greenbacks or Euros? How far taken apart?
W/o photos anyone's guess. I'll wait for others to chime in.
As for an MGB hardtop who cares?

Geez, David. Nice way to welcome a new member... ;)

As MOST Scorpions are still in the US I'd suspect this car is too, but you never know.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't mind having a nice MGB GT for a project. Those bodies were of Italian design, ya know!

One point of reference for you Nivo.

There is a car here in Colorado that is in a similar situation. It's been completely disassembled for restoration, two-owner (now in possession of son-in-law of original owner) is low mileage, and is supposedly in excellent condition. The folks were only asking $500.00 for it.

They run a winery and are very busy so I've not yet been able to arrange a time to view the car so I can't really comment on it's actual condition yet.

Indeed it is. Of course, there could be a broker fee involved...

The car is in Oxford, Massachusetts. The car is light blue in color, the current owner says he is going to paint it and with my help put it back together again.

The car has no glass, rubber, interior but has drivetrain and powertrain in it with wheels and tires to roll it. The paint will be done before it's put back together. It also has the spoiler kit and various NEW and never inbstalled "Moe" parts (sp?). Car is complete and everything looks great.

He has owned it now for a few years and with my help he wants to put it together and sell it. If it looks like something he will enjoy as a toy he will possibly keep it since its a nice looking car.

I doubt this car would sell for $500 completed but I have yet to see what they go for after being done completely.

The MG A is a 1961 with spoke wheels and will also be painted, already primed.

Nothing to offer on the Scorpion, but the MGA's are very good cars. Far better (for their time) than an MGB. Lovely shape, good manners and sporting. I have a friend with one and it is a great drive and in most ways more advanced and focused than the MGB.

"Moe" i think should be "OME" Original Manufactures Equipment.

I know that there is a lowering spoiler kit, headlight covering etc... I guess the previous owner was going to set it up for racing so there are many "racing" parts.

You can probably round up glass for it. The windshield is the hard part to find but you can get them from the Monte Hospital in England. You MAY find someone here in the US that has one available.

I have a rear window and rear quarter lights that I MAY part with.

Don't worry about that. EVERYONE loves the looks of these cars.

$500 would indeed be a bargain for a nice "completed" Scorpion (if there actually is such a thing) LOL! I only laugh because we all tend to work on them forever no matter how "complete" they may be. I wasn't suggesting that "yours' was only worth that. I was just providing a reference to a similar, disassembled car.

A good Scorpion can be worth a fair sum. People may laugh but I wouldn't consider selling mine (http://lancisti.net/forum/showthread.php?t=2161) for less than about $25,000.

Now that should be worth something when completed. I'd love to have it.

OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer

From the looks of it they look to be aftermarket parts from the time.

oh, LOL

the car is complete, meaning all the parts are there to complete it once painted... it's just that currently it has the glass off and moldings etc to get the chassis painted. Everything is there to finish the car. So yeah, the glass is in the shop too :)

Nice car there DJ. yeah some of these should not go below $11,000 if in restored condition.

The MGA will be finished also but he loves that car.

He is a body man who owns his own shop so you know it will be done right!
